📚 How to use Writers Block (click to expand)
What this is. Writers Block turns a short request into publish-ready content grounded in DLG's own knowledge (real installs, brightness testing, SME answers). Two tools live here today: Landing Pages builds SuiteCommerce-ready HTML you copy or download and paste into the CMS yourself, and Blogs writes a WordPress draft for review. Product Descriptions is coming as a third tab. Publishing is always manual; nothing here ever touches the live sites.
The four landing page types. Two questions place every page: does it route visitors onward or is it the destination, and is it built around a product grid or around editorial content?
- Collection Page (live now): the destination with a product grid, like /headlights/assemblies/led-headlights. The grid is the point; the tool writes a restrained top zone: keyword-driven H1 and intro, one insight from DLG testing, an optional video beside a short text block with one internal link, plus the SEO schema.
- Category Hub (next): routes onward, like /headlights. Ranks for the broad term and presents a link tree into its child categories.
- Concept Hub (later): an editorial home base, like HR Tested. Heavy on experience content, featured video, and links into its sub-topics.
- Content Article (later): a terminal editorial page, like a product comparison built from our testing videos. What a hub points into.
How a request flows. Submit the form, watch the queue below. The engine drafts the page, then a second editor pass enriches it and checks every insight slot for a specific, only-DLG-could-say-it fact. If it cannot find real substance for a section, the request comes back asking for source material instead of shipping generic filler; that is intentional. When complete, click View: copy the HTML, download the .html file, or type a change in plain English and a new version is generated.
Keyword workbench. On the dashboard's SEO page, the "Top 10 Keywords to Recapture" table has a Brief button on every keyword. Click it and the system researches that keyword (who outranks us, what intent it carries, what DLG knowledge exists for it) and writes a content brief that appears here as a (brief) row. Open it, read the recommendation, click Copy Brief, then paste it into the Workbench Brief box at the top of the request form and fill out the rest of the form as usual (purpose, video, category). The writer follows the brief along with your inputs. Nothing generates until you submit the form.
Best practices.
- Use the exact target path for the page (like /headlights/assemblies/led-headlights); breadcrumbs and internal links are looked up from the site map by that path.
- Provide the primary YouTube video yourself when you want one; the engine never picks a video for you.
- Feed it specifics in Notes: model years, quirks, part numbers, test results. Specific beats general every time; that is what wins in Google and AI answers.
- Give a target keyword when you have one from SEMrush; otherwise the topic is used.
- Links stay on the page's own site by design; competitor or cross-site links are stripped.
- Review before you paste: you are the publisher. The tool drafts; a human ships.
